Salience bias is the fascinating tendency humans have to worry about dramatic things (explosions, disasters, big fierce animals, etc.), rather than to objectively evaluate the odds.
Confirmation bias (or myside bias) is a tendency for people to prefer information that confirms their preconceptions or hypotheses, independently of whether they are true.
How distorted are your perceptions? Do you think distorted perceptions make for better or worse art? I think it is the artist’s responsibility to see clearly and to express that clarity in their art, but that’s just my opinion.
